The past couple of years, things have been working in my life that have made me re-think some of my ways of thinking and re-evaluate some of my habits. I hate when that happens!
One of those things is the state of our country, the world and the planet. But more importantly it is where this is all heading, from a political standpoint all the way to the environmental ramifications. No matter what scenario I look at in my mind, I feel like I should take a stand where I can, and do something different when I can. And that train of thought has got me looking into renewable energy. There are many reasons to be thinking about alternative energy sources, none of which I am going to be discussing here.
What I do want to talk about is solar panels and wind turbines!
Again, there are multiple reasons why we would want to work towards living off the grid and none of which I will be discussing here, either. Just suffice it to say that there is a real and serious need to learn all you can about green energy. From the cost savings to the environmental impact and all the way to the Independence and self-sufficiency of such a lifestyle.
With a little bit of knowledge and the right design, you can create your own power plant at home and never have to pay for electricity again. Even better than that, you won’t have to ever worry about losing power at your house in any situation. And if you stick with me here, i will take you through the process of setting up your house to be prepared for anything as well as being ecologically proactive.
The basic green technology available is solar power systems and wind energy. You harness this energy through Solar panels and wind turbines.
What I want to do here is take you through the process of determining your needs to designing a system. How much power will you need? And what will it take to reach this level. Should I buy an installed system or a ready made kit, or should I even go as far as building my own panels and windmills. Well if you stick with me here, I will show you how to make those determinations and what your best course of action is going to be.
